Pilots: Goldblum 'Seeing Red' at NBC, Heche Climbs ABC's 'Trees' ABC and NBC have each landed high-profile stars for one of their pilots, with Anne Heche headed to the Alphabet and Jeff Goldblum signing on with NBC.The two Emmy-nominated actors headline a round of pilot casting that also includes Gale Harold ("Queer As Folk"), Bonnie Somerville ("Kitchen Confidential"), Jodi Lyn O'Keefe ("Boston Legal").Goldblum is in final negotiations to play the lead in NBC's "Seeing Red," according to The Hollywood Reporter. He'll play an off-center detective who possesses an ability to converse with the dead victims in his cases. Graham Yost ("Boomtown") wrote the pilot, and Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption") has signed on to direct it.Goldblum earned an Emmy nomination last year for his guest role on "Will & Grace." Other recent credits for the "Jurassic Park" star include "The Life Aquatic" and "Igby Goes Down."At ABC, Heche will star in "Men in Trees," a dramedy from writer Jenny Bicks ("Sex and the City") and director James Mangold ("Walk the Line"). She'll play a therapist who finds out her husband is cheating and moves to Alaska -- where, she discovers, the pool of eligible men is surprisingly large. Emily Bergl ("Taken," "Gilmore Girls") and Derek Richardson ("Hostel") have also joined the show.Heche did a three-episode arc on "Nip/Tuck" last fall and had a recurring part on "Everwood" in the 2004-05 season. She earned her Emmy nod in 2004 for the Lifetime movie "Gracie's Choice."Also at ABC, Somerville has joined the cast of actor-writer Danny Comden's untitled comedy. It marks a return to the network for the actress, who was a regular in the final season of "NYPD Blue."Harold, best known for Showtime's "Queer As Folk," will play the lead in "Vanished," a FOX drama that chronicles the search for a senator's wife who has disappeared. Harold will also be playing Wyatt Earp on HBO's "Deadwood" this summer.O'Keefe, meanwhile, has signed on to "The 12th Man," FOX's comedy about an end-of-the-bench pro basketball player. It's based on former NBA pine-sitter Paul Shirley's blog for ESPN. Also at FOX, Margo Harshman ("Run of the House") and Mircea Monroe ("Just Friends") have joined the cast of the comedy "The Adventures of Big Handsome Guy and His Little Friend."
